Songtradr artists can now link their existing Spotify and Apple artist profile accounts to their releases during the distribution process. 

Some common questions are:

• What if I have the same artist name as someone else on Spotify/Apple?
• Why did Spotify create another artist profile changing the casing of my artist name? 

This feature helps to resolve these issues so our artist can confidently know that their new releases will connect properly. 

Note: These fields are optional. If you do not have profiles yet, you can add them in after your first release!

In your Songtradr dashboard:

After you've entered your new release title, you will be taken to the Details page of the distribution process:

• Click the pencil/edit icon within the Main Artist section. 
• Click Create New Release Artist.
• Enter your Band Name, or First and Last Name
• Enter your Spotify URI (see details below on how to locate your Spotify URI within your artist profile). 
• Enter your Apple Music Artist Link (see details below on how to locate your Apple URI within your artist profile). 
• Click Save Artist.

How to find and add your artist profile URI links:

Spotify URI

• Navigate to your Spotify profile
• Click the 3 dot icon
• Hover over Share
• Hover over Copy link to artist and hold down the modifier key (PC: alt / Mac: option)
• It will display Copy Spotify URI
• Click to copy

Note: If you see that the sharing options in the context menu have been reduced to Copy Link and Copy embed code, you can still copy Spotify URIs if you hold down the modifier key (PC: alt/ MAC: option) in the share menu. DO NOT attempt to add a URL, as only URIs will be accepted. 

Apple Music Artist Link

• Navigate to your Apple Music profile
• Click the Share icon
• Click Copy Link

Note: If you do not have existing profiles on Spotify and/or Apple, please leave this section blank. Please do not add artist IDs that do not belong to you.

When needed, you can also edit your existing artist details to add profile links:

• In the Details page of the distribution process, click the pencil icon within the Artist field associated with the artist you wish to edit.

• Click the pencil/edit icon next to the artist name

• Enter your Spotify URI (see details below on how to locate your Spotify URI within your artist profile). 
• Enter your Apple Music Artist Link (see details below on how to locate your Apple URI within your artist profile). 
• Click Save Artist.

Note: The artist name will not be editable for existing artists already released.
