Ultimately, it’s up to you how you wish to credit collaborators on your songs.
It’s important to note, however, that the way collaborator information is entered, will determine how your release looks when published. Additionally, if you do not correctly enter Main Artist names, some of our digital partners (such as Spotify or iTunes) may reject the release.
For releases with more than one main artist
In this case, you would like all the main artists to receive equal billing. It’s important to note that each artist name must be entered one at a time.
Example only: “Digital Dash” by Drake & Future
- Click Distribution on the left navigation bar on your dashboard
- Click Create new Single Release (or Album/EP Release where relevant)
To enter the first Main Artist name
- Click the Main Artist: dropdown and select from previously created names or click + Create New Release Artist to enter a new name in the pop-up window
- Click Create Artist

To enter more Main Artist names
- Click the Contributing Artist(s): dropdown icon and select from previously created names or click + Create New Release Artist to enter a new name
In the example below, you will see that artist names are displayed equally in the order they were entered. Each entry will open up additional dropdowns which can be filled in with more Main Artist names if needed.

FOR RELEASES WITH A FEATURED ARTIST
If your release has a featured artist (e.g. Drake feat. Lil Wayne), you would enter Drake as the Main Artist and Lil Wayne as the Featured Artist.
The Artist Display: field will adjust, and in this example as “Drake feat. Lil Wayne”

This is how our example will appear on streaming platforms:
Note: On Spotify, Featured Artist releases will not show up on under the main release section, and will instead be shown further down on the profile under "Appears On." If you want the release to be shown under the main release section, consider changing to a contributing artist instead.
FOR RELEASES WITH A GROUP/BAND NAME
If the artist is a group (i.e. Bob Marley & The Wailers), enter the full name in the Main Artist: field. Once again, the Artist Display: will reflect this accordingly.
