A Blanket License provides the licensee rights to use multiple compositions/recordings for a particular use on agreed terms.
There are many different structures to blanket licenses. Generally the terms of a blanket license are based on the following criteria:
a) Media Type - What the music will be used for (i.e Network TV, In-store radio, Digital Advertising etc.)
b) Term - The time the licensee will have the benefit of the blanket license (e.g. One Year)
c) Territory - Where the Licensee can use the rights (e.g. USA/Canada)
d) Music Quantity - The amount of tracks the licensee will have access to (e.g. 5000 tracks)
e) Fee - The amount the licensee pays for the rights
